Pelisor Castle Pelisor Castle is a small palace built on the Peles Castle (in the Prahova valley). Built between 1899 and 1902 by Czech architect Karel Liman and decorated by the Viennese artist Bernhardt Ludwig, Pelisor Castle became, since 1903, the summer residence of the inheritance principles of Romania. It was built by the wish of King Carol I as the residence of the hereditary princes Ferdinand and Maria. The furniture and interior decorations, made to a great extent by Bernhard Ludwig, indicate a residential space (hall, work cabinets, chapel, golden room), tributary to the innovations of the artistic movements of the early twentieth century.
