The Corvin Castle

It is considered one of the most beautiful castles in the world, being located in the top 10 European fairytale destinations - the Corvinus Castle, known as the Corvin family residence, occupies a fortress donated by King Sigismund of Luxembourg to Voicu Hunyadi in the year 1409, but the one who started the construction of the present castle is his son, Iancu de Hunedoara - voivode of Transylvania during the years 1441-1456 and hero of victory over the Turks in 1456 in Belgrade.

The Corvinus Castle was extended over time by its descendants, including his son, Matthew Corvinus, becoming one of the most prominent Hungarian kings, crowned in 1457 after the death of King Laszlo. The castle passed in 1605 in possession of the Bethlen family, which brought Renaissance elements to the castle.
