Odobeşti is a town in Vrancea County, Moldova, Romania, made up of Odobeşti component (residence), and Unirea village. It has a population of 9,364 inhabitants and is located in the middle of Odobesti vineyard.
The town is located on the left bank of the Milcov River, 10 km northwest of Focsani, at the eastern boundary of the Curb Subcarpathians, between them and the eastern part of the Romanian Plain (Siret Corridor). To the northwest is Măgura Odobeşti, which reaches the height of 996m, and to the south passes Milcov's middle course. The average altitude of the city is 150 m.
To the north, Odobesti is bordered by the commune of Boloteşti, an important wine-growing center, to the east with Focşani, to the south with Broşteni and Vârşeşcoiu, and to the west by the commune of Jariştea, having also important vine plantations.
The DN2M national road crosses the city, connecting it southeast to Focsani (where it ends in DN2D) and to the west by Broşteni, Mera, Reghiu, Andreiaşu de Jos and Nereju. At Odobeşti, this road intersects with the county road DJ205B, which leads north to Jariştea and Boloteşti (where intersects with DN2D), Ţifeşti and Panciu and to the south to Broşteni, Vârşeşcoiu, Cârligele, Coteşti and Urecheşti (where it ends in DN2 ). A railway line connects the city of Focsani. 1005 inhabitants. In 1931, the village of Haret was recorded in Padureni commune.
