Negresti

Negreşti is a town in the county of Vaslui, Moldova, Romania, made up of Negreşti component (residence), and from the villages of Căzăneşti, Cioatele, Glodeni, Parpaniţa, Poiana and Valea Mare. It is a third-class city with a population of 8.380 inhabitants. The name of the city comes from the venerate Negrea, one of the most powerful feudalists of his time, present in the reign of Alexander the Good, between 1401-1429.

The city is located in the north - west of Vaslui County, along the railway and the national road DN15D, Vaslui - Roman. From the geography point of view, the town is located in the center of the Moldavian plateau on the banks of the river Velna very close to the Velna ponds. The village of Căzăneşti, which is part of the city, is located near the lake of the same name and the Durduc river.

Negreşti town is located on the secondary railway line connecting the cities of Iaşi and Roman via Buhăieşti.
