Roznov Roznov is a city in Neamt County, Moldova, Romania, consisting of the localities Chintinici, Roznov (residence) and Slobozia. The town is located in the north of the Cracau-Bistrita depression, on the Bistrita river, 15 km southeast of Piatra Neamt. It is crossed by the DN15 national road, which connects Piatra Neamt to Bacau. At Roznov, this road intersects with the county road DJ156A, which links it north of Girov (where it intersects with DN15D), Dobreni (where intersects with DN15C), Negresti and Cracaoani, and south of Borlesti, Tazlau and further In the Bacau county of the Balkans, Parjol and Ardeoani (where it ends in DN2G). The town also crosses the Bacau-Bicaz railway, which is served by the Roznov station. The name of the Roznov village is mentioned for the first time in a document of April 18, 1576, by which Petru schiopul strengthens the Bistrita Monastery, the right to rule several villages, including Roznovul. In the second half of the 17th century, Roznov came into rulership of the Ruset family, who added the name Roznovanu, from the name of the village and the estate. At the end of the 19th century, Roznov was a commune in Bistrita Neamt County, consisting of the villages Roznov, Chintinici, Slobozia, Cuteni, Dumbrava Rosie de Jos, Savinesti and Brasauti, with a total of 4144 inhabitants. There were five water mills, a 30-bed rural hospital, four churches and three schools with 238 students (of which 38 were girls). The Socec Yearbook of 1925 records it in the same net, with 4820 inhabitants and the same composition. In 1931 the village remained with the villages of Roznov and Chintinici, as the village of Slobozia separated to form a commune itself, and the rest of the villages formed the commune of Savinesti. The commune of Slobozia will be abolished but soon the village returns to Roznov commune. Roznov
