The town of Gura Humorului draws its name from its location at the mouth of the Humor River in the river Moldova. The town was declared since 1904, which has facilitated its development. The locality is documented in the medieval documents issued by the chancellery of Moldavia since the beginning of the 15th century (1415), when the eagle Oana founded the old monastery of Humorului, at a distance of 6 Km from the current city. Gura Humorului has acquired the status of a tourist resort of national interest by Government Decision no.114 of February 24, 2005, published in the Official Gazette no. 178/1 March 2005. On the territory of Gura Humorului, located in the center of Suceava County, there are many tourist attractions to be visited.
